Calliope announces auditions for SNOOPY!!!, a musical by Larry Grossman and Hal Hackady. SNOOPY!!! is a musical comedy by Larry Grossman and Hal Hackady, with a book by Warren Lockhart, Arthur Whitelaw, and Michael Grace. The characters are from the Charles M. Schulz comic strip Peanuts. This sequel to the musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown focuses more on the life of Snoopy.
SNOOPY!!! will be presented May 16, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.
Rehearsals will be held each Sunday afternoon 1:00-4:00 pm, and Wednesday and Friday evening (7:00 pm – 9:30 pm), beginning March 3rd, 2013.

Snoopy: either adult male or adult female
Woodstock: a dancer who sings, either male or female, aged 14 or older
Charlie Brown: adult male
Linus: adult male

Sally Brown: adult female
Ensemble: 5-6 males or females, aged 14 or older

The audition schedule is as follows.
For principal roles and the ensemble:
Friday evening, February 1, 2013, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Saturday afternoon, February 2, 2013, 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Callback (for principal roles only), Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2013, 1:00 – 3:30 pm
For children (Woodstock's entourage):
Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2013, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Candidates should prepare as follows:
Make an appointment for either one of the two preliminary auditions. Please plan to stay for the entire time.
At the preliminary audition you will:
Read from the script
Sing at least 16-32 bars of a song of your choosing. Choose a song that admirably demonstrates the quality of your voice. Please bring sheet music, in the key you plan to sing in. Unaccompanied singing will not be allowed, and our pianist will not transpose
Sing a 20 bar ensemble selection from the SNOOPY!!! score. You will learn this music as part of the audition
Dance a combination to the same 20 bar selection from the SNOOPY!!! score. You will learn this combination as part of the audition
Those candidates who are considered for a principal role (Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Sally) will be asked to attend the callback audition. At the callback, you will:
Read from the script
Sing
Dance
in various combinations of people
Special comments regarding the Woodstock role:
Woodstock is a dance role. We are looking for someone who is a stronger dancer than singer. Candidates for the Woodstock role will learn a different, more demanding dance combination for their audition. Less emphasis will be placed on singing. The person who plays this role will participate in some of the ensemble numbers, and will need to be able to blend vocally with the ensemble. The person chosen for Woodstock will not need to attend the callback audition.
Everyone who is chosen for a principal role or for the adult ensemble will be required at the children’s audition on February 17.
