Set in the small, fictitious New Hampshire community of Gorver's Corners, Our Town focuses on life in a small town at the turn of the 20th century.

When it opened on Broadway in 1938 it was hailed for its unconventional staging and for its evocative charm and simplicity, garnering numerous accolades, including the Pulitzer Prize, for Wilder.
